    Hello

Hello Everyone, Im really new to all of this. We have a 56 BelAir. I would love to find out some history on it but am striking out at every turn. Any advise is greatly appreciated. We are in NJ but the car was assembled in Tarrytown NY according to the vin.

    Things you can do:

    1) Track down the person YOU bought it from, and track backwards as far as you can.
    2) You can 'GOOGLE' on the VIN of the car, and you might get a hit from someone attempting to sell the car in the past since ebay and some other sites ask sellers for the VIN of the vehicle.
    3) Are there any 'dealership' stickers or emblems on the car? If so, you can track back to perhaps the selling dealer.
    4) Tell us about the car and it's options, original or modified? restored or ?? If you check the codes on the cowl data plate, it will tell you original color and trim level, how early or late it was built and possibly some of the options it was built with...

Are you only attempting to identify HISTORY for the car? Or are there other things you want to know?
