    Door Bumpers 57 Bel Air

Finishing up the details on my 57 Bel Air. Purchased car partly disassembled. Weatherstrip and door bumpers were removed. No problem with weatherstrip, but now have a 26 piece set of door bumpers and trying to determine where the 8 different types of bumpers go. Any help appreciated. Car now being polished, road ready in a week. Phew! Long road and lotsa cash, but it is beautiful. Will post pics.

There is a document library on this site. Take a look at the forum. I pull assembly pics down all the time.

I think most of them should be fairly self-explanatory. The only 26 piece set I see is for a 4-door sedan. Is that what you have? Danchuk 224a kit contains bumpers for the doors, trunk, glove box and hood.

Yes, 4 door sedan. Thanks for the replies. Will be looking for assembly diagrams on this site.

I don't think the assembly manual shows where these bumpers go, or at least I don't see them. Maybe I can help you get started. The four large round bumpers in the upper left pic above and shown below go on each corner of the hood on top of the hood bumper adjusting studs.

The two directly below them go on the lower corners of the trunk.

The two small ones at the very bottom go on the corners of the glove box.

The two with the two prongs go on the door jamb at the rear of the front doors.

From what I have found, the two rectangular ones go on the rear doors.

I think a couple of them go at the top rear of the front doors. If the hole is 1/4" you use the ones with prongs. If the hole is 1/8" you use the ones with screws.
Some of the remainder go on the rear doors but I'm not sure where.
