    Hello from Salinas Ca.

I am a 60 year old lifetime enthusiast that now has my third 55. this is my first Bel Air and my first hard top as well.

My newest car belonged to my wife's uncle and I have been pestering him for over 30 years for him to sell it to me. It has been sitting in a garage on his ranch the entire time. He had made a few attempts to get it running and even went ahead and had a local mechanic install a target master crate motor about 15 years ago. (It was started but the car has never actually moved under power with this motor) He also pulled the interior out planning on a full replacement but never did that either. Lastly about 20 years ago he had the car towed to a local body shop and they painted the car in original colors, never cut or buffed it and then the original owner started putting all the trim back on.....That gets us to current. Jerry, (my wifes uncle and original owner) passed away in 2015. The car sat untouched on his ranch until last month when I was able to take custody of it. So let me show you folks the pictures of it.

It sure looks like the same car, CN..

Robert: That's a great looking '55.. I really like it. When I was a teenager, my grandfather (when he around 80) owned a '55 HT the same color; it had a V8 with a 3 sp in the floor.. (apparently a teenager had owned it before granddad).. Then around 20 yrs later, I bought one just like it (V8 PG) from the family of another man who had passed away.. same color again~ Mine wasn't as nice as yours, as the paint was not exactly right, but your car appears to have the right pigments..

It is the same car. It was originally turned over to me in 2015, then a bunch of family drama happened over me getting the car so I loaded it back on tot the flat bed and returned it. now 4 and half years later it is back in my shop and the pink slip is now in my name. Drama is over and I could not be happier.

Thanks for the explanation and clearing up my confusion, Robert. I recognized your name from somewhee (Chevytalk??) and I googled it and saw that thread. No offense intended, I was just curious.

Looks like a really nice car and I've always loved those "weird" colors. What are your plans for it?

I have a good friend Bob Haas who goes by HYPR on Chevytalk and other forums. He's here in Saugus near where I live in Newhall CA....still has his smallblock-supercharged 56 DelRay post car.
