    Solvent Tank Solvent

    Hello All,

I have an old school safety clean solvent tank and I'm wanting to replace the solvent which is old school. This solvent is not available anymore here in California, does anyone have any recommendations for a good new school solvent? Thanks!!!

I forget what the name of it is, but I've been using a solvent made for the purpose from Tractor Supply. It's pretty reasonably priced. It doesn't stink too bad and it doesn't tear up my hands and skin.

Edit: found it on their website. Crown PSC100, $39.99 for a 5 gallon pail. Sounds expensive, but try buying 5 gallons of kerosene. This stuff is much better than kerosene.

Knowing the idiots that run your state, it may not be available there.

Thanks Rick, I got a reply for this stuff on another site and iy looks like I can get it!!! Napa sells something similar. I'm going to buy 2 cans because it'll probably be illegal any day soon. The only thing is you can't have it shipped to your house, it has to go to either TSC or Napa which are both right near me!! Thanks again!!

Mineral spirits can be many different things depending on where you get it. What's known in industry as "odorless mineral spirits" is a pretty good choice for parts cleaning solvent, but there are many variations. The Tractor Supply stuff is probably odorless mineral spirits but maybe with traces of other stuff mixed in.

I use mineral spirits that I buy at a local petroleum company cheap. Works well for me but does have odor. If I used it every day I'd probably look for something odorless.
