thanks for the welcome guys I've had my 56 going on 4 years this fall I had done some work on the car a few years before for the previous owner fuel tank carb & new wiring harness I thought about the car after selling a 65 vette i'd completely redone & had for a 10 years the plan was just to do a few upgrades to make the car a better driver disc p/s sway bar Well we all know how those plans change I had built the 408 ls3 stroker to replace the 6.0 ls in a 70 monte carlo i had the more i looked at it sitting on the engine stand the more my plans for the 56 changed It ended up with the 408 a 4l70e built trans & 12 bolt 3.73 & hydraboost after the first drive with the LS & a vacuum booster 9" vac from the LS the next year the body got a lot of new sheet metal & new paint ( causing the sale of a very nice monte carlo to fund the 56) last fall was a pocket kit & change to 305/45/17 M/T tires at last traction & a Dakota Digital vhx dash maybe I'll take a break for a while now

It started life as a 6.0 truck block I bought the stroker 4" crank & rods from Molnar Technologies he founded K1 before selling the company quality parts weisco pistons Ported Ls3 heads I probably went a little conservative on camshaft one step under recommendation BTR stage 3 but it's a street car If I was doing it over might have gone with a little less compression & a supercharger maybe from a LSA equipped camaro or vette actually built it for a different car I had at the time but I kept looking at it on the stand & finally I gave in
