Tom Terrific Seaver passed away on Monday... :(

I just heard on the morning news about several memorials for Tom Seaver who passed away on Monday. He was similar aged to many of us, and I'm sure you remember him as well as I do. He was a terrific pitcher, winning 311 games including leading the 'awful mets' into the Amazing Mets who won the 1969 MLB championship.

I looked for and found this article with the details of his demise.

Just read another article by a MLB columnist (Tim Brown) who writes about his hero Tom Seaver as a NYC 7 yr old (back in '69)... His remembrances are much like mine and every other young baseball fan of the time. (I was always a Mickey Mantle fan with the same views of Mantle as Brown had of Seaver)...

reading this will take you back to your youth... if you're a baseball fan..

Thanks for posting this, Gary! I didn't follow baseball a lot in those days (was working days and attending night school) but I remember Tom Seaver. Great ball player, a real gentleman and he could be mischievous in a fun sort of way. Very sad to hear of his passing.
