    AAW Ignition Switch

I installed an AAW Classic Update wiring harness in the '56. It came with a new ignition switch. The old switch positions were lock, off, on, start. Is the AAW the same or are the positions different? I thought I heard the AAW switch has accessory position, if so it can't be like the original switch. Does anyone what the positions are on the new switch? I want to make sure the switch is off when I first connect a battery.

I think you'll find that the positions on the AAW ignition switch are accessory, lock, off, on, and start in clockwise order. With the switch unlocked and key out, the further counterclockwise should be off. Check it with an ohmeter or test light before you put it in the dash or connect any wires.

Thanks Rick. I already have it installed but I will check it out.

I just realized I originally posted "light switch" when I meant ignition switch. But you figured out what I wanted to know. Thanks.
