seems like a lot of play between the bolt and the alt. itself. hard to describe, it`s like the bolt is to narrow for the alt. i can move it with the bolt installed. actually wiggle it. any spacer or something i`m missing? thanx.

Dave, I have purchased a reman alt in the past and sometimes they come with a bolt and a sleeve to mount it with. I suppose some remans have larger mounting holes due to using different casings in the reman process. I have also had alt's with a sleeve that has a bolt flange on it so it bolts to the alt. Not sure this will help you but sharing my experience on this subject.

how about putting it like this, the long 3/8 bolt wobbles in it.
I think the alternator probably needs a sleeve in the mounting hole, like mentioned above.
