    Replacement stock style axles

    Hi guys,

I would like to get a pair of new stock style 57 replacement axles for my car.
    What vendors make good ones?
I'm not drag racing and the engine is a street friendly sbc 355.

Friday the driver side axle came loose. I looks like the bearing came of the shaft it self.

Thanks, Are these special order? Moser doesn't list them on the website.

If you order from Moser, be sure to let them know if you have an open or posi differential. The posi axles are around 1/4" shorter. I recently bought a pair from them for our '56. One was fine, but the other one was a pita to install.

Today i pulled the axle out and the crimp ring is missing.
I'll pull the center section out and see if its there.

If You find the ring and the ring is intact, you can reinstall the bearing, then the ring, then tack weld the ring to the axle. I installed new forged axles. I got them through southeast chevy, I am pretty sure they are moser axles.

stick a long magnet in. hey there, why was one difficult to install? and moser always asks for the measurment. just under$400 to the door. hey, if southeast has v`em, and they are strong, just go for it. and i always put just a little gear oil on them when installing.

The only problem with Tom's Differentials is that their website has not been updated since 2017, nearly four years ago so I am not all that sure they are still in business or if they are, all that active.

    Tom Died

    Here is it

    Charles “Tom” Watt

    October 5, 1950 – January 24, 2018

Tom was born on October 5, 1950 in Long Beach, California. Tom had a wonderful life growing up in California in the ‘50’s and ‘60’s. Forty-three years ago he started Tom’s Differentials in Paramount, California. Tom worked long days in order to build a successful business. He learned through hard work and paying attention. He eventually moved Tom’s Differentials to Ponderay, Idaho, which is where he considered home. He left behind his wife Jo Anne, many loving family members and friends. He will be greatly missed by all. What the world has lost heaven has gained.

But I email the company & this is what they email me so it looks like they are still open

Yes, we are! We are open Monday-Friday from 9AM-3PM.

    Thank you,
    Lesli
