    Hi from the PNW

Thank you for the allowing me to join.
I just picked up my first TriFive. 56 Bel Air, 265 three speed O/D. Odometer says 78k. Got if from a friend who lives a block from me. It was his dad's since 2011, but sat most of the time. Said he drove it once a year. Unknown what the previous history was.
So we went over to pick it up from his unheated shop, outside temp was 8, not sure what shop temp was. I cranked it over and it started then blew out a spark plug. I put the plug back in and got it to start. Would only go into 2nd and 3rd. I think the shift tube froze. I got it into first and drove it to my shop. I hope all that wasn't an omen.
Anyways, here is a few pictures and I will be asking questions, hopefully in the proper areas.
    Thanks again,
    Steve

That is a very nice find. With just a little bit of cleanup and maintanence, you have a sharp 56 to drive!
    Drive it. Often...

1959 Fleetside Apache 1/2 ton, shortbed, big window, 327ci.

I don't know anyone who would turn that car down.. I love it....

    Do your maintenance:

    1) Brakes... inspect and fix anything needing repair.. ie. Make it stop reliably.
    2) Engine ... tuneup, replace all rubber parts, flush and fill the cooling system with good coolant
    3) Everything else.. tires? polish and wax the paint... clean the interior...

    4) Go underneath and check for any rusted parts and repair...

Like others said, fix the important stuff, shouldn't take that long, then drive it. Other stuff can be done as time and funds permit.
    Enjoy!

Thank you all for the nice words. I will go to the project site, I think that is the right spot, and let you know how this turns out and post more pictures.
