Some of you might recognize me from other forums. Laszlo invited me a while back and I finally joined today.

I've had my 66 since I was in high school and I bought my 56 about 8 years ago.

I bought a lot of parts for the 56 in the last few years but really have not worked on it yet. I just got back from a 2000 mile round trip to Iowa to pickup some really nice fenders.

Hope to learn more from all of you here.

Hi John. Welcome from TEXAS! Another 56 owner joins the fold. I can understand the long trip for the fenders. Had one guy from Minnesota come down for an entire 57 chevy front end (largest rust spot was a drip rust pool 25 cent size) I swapped him for a curved Nomad rear side window once upon a time. Rust free parts are that rare. What are your plans for the Chevy?

My 56 looks about the same as when I bought it.

There are pictures on the first link in my signature.

The only work I've done is change the oil and filter (to get some fresh fluid in there) and I connected a battery to see what circuits worked. The glovebox light and radio are working.

I want to get it roadworthy and safe but I don't have a big budget for paint or a monster motor.
