Sigured out a early 90s S10 rag joint is the same thing they sell in conversion kits, only in my case it was free. As much as I have had to buy to do this swap its nice to win one once in a while.

Nice work Mark. I think there's a lot of stuff out there that will work in our cars if people would just scour he salvage yards like they used to. It's gotten to where people just buy "kits" an be done with it. I needed a cable throttle linkage for my Nomad years ago, took a trip to a yard, and found out that a 66-67 LeMans throttle cable is almost a bolt-in once you cut the hole for the cable.

It is hard to believe now but back in the 60s GM cars truly had their own personality, when I needed to but a throttle cable on my 67 Camaro to run a crossram back in 80, I found similar results. A 67 Firebird was cable while Camaro was a rod, but the Firebird cable was bolt on. I really miss the junkyards of the past.

What was the diameter of the rag?

I never bothered to measure the OD but is was small compared to the 60s /70s style, I will be in shop removing my leaky pos heatercore from Ralph Roberts so I can install my nonfitting Ecklers tonight, I will get a measurement.
