Can anyone recommend a rivet nut set for installing nuts in sheetmetal?
Thanks

I don't have a specific recommendation.
The main thing here, at least for me, is a setting tool that's affordable that will work on several sizes. Depending on the intended use, you will want to look at the choices on torque retention (pure friction vs. a key vs. a spline). Aluminum vs. steel is another consideration. The force required to set the rivnut can be considerable. You can easily spend several hundred $$ on a tool that you might only use to set a couple dozen fasteners, and that doesn't work for most of us.
I saw a discussion on cheap homemade rivnut setting tools at camaros.net a few years back.

Warren, can you get to the backside of the panel, or is it a blind hole? I usually like to use these captive nuts instead of Rivnuts, since these are flush with the metal.

I've used Rivet Nuts but I've always just used a bolt, nut and washer to install them. Cheap tool, works fine.

Used the bolt, nut washer idea and it worked well and allowed installation under the dash in tight area.
Thanks
