Living in town, living with the UBC, and living with neighbors is a trip. When my son and I started our shop, I drew plans (I'm a retired general contractor) for a 35x25 shop. But city code only allows us to cover 50 % of the back 3rd. of our property. And because of footage coverage i was only allowed 750 sq.ft. So, had to turn the shop sideways at 25 x30. Because we put the shop on the property lines side and back we came under daylight zoning regs. I could only have 9' walls and a roofline of 45 degrees or less so I wouldn't shade my neighbors yard. Oh, and you want a 12' roll-up and a 3' man door ? Sorry, you must put in a 16' roll-up. Why I asked? So two cars can egress at the same time. Into a 9' wide driveway? Doesn't make sense !! Should have kept my mouth shut as they postponed my request for a variance and we lost another 60 days. OK,OK enough whining and sniveling. Here's our shop and glad to have it. After we got signed off I put in the original 12' and 3' doors and I lofted the ceiling to 10'

It looks very well organized. I wish mine was a little more like that. Good job.
