The sun visors have been my project of late. The car was wired for vanity mirrors and lights.
Those have been installed and the fabric is cut and I am ready to finalize visor.
But I have been thinking of adding the Home Link garage door opener to the visor.
I like the idea of not carrying a single remote door opener but instead have the opener permanently installed in the visor.

I have Home Link in several cars but I have never traced the wires from the buttons.

Is there a remote box somewhere under the dash or is everything in the visor?

May have found my answer.
An older vehicle I have has the HomeLink in the overhead console.
I opened it up and the complete unit is there with only a ground and a power lead going to it.
So I checked my newer car which has the Homelink in the sun visor.
It also has two wires going to the visor. So I assume the complete unit is hidden in the visor.
The Homelink is sold in several after market rear view mirrors, so the components must be fairly small.
I guess the next step is a U-pick for a visor with the home link.

Sounds right, there's no need to wire it into the rest of the car.

Got the sun visors completed with vanity mirrors installed and Homelink garage door opener.
The vanity mirrors look good and the Homelink install was OK.
They could have used more foam around the Homelink box to hide the outline of the box.
Maybe I should have used a Homelink box from a different vehicle. One that is thinner.
Anyway, another phase completed.

Looks great Bihili.
Where/how did you route the wires for power and ground to the lights & homelink?

Good question.
Initially I tried drilling a hole in the end of the sliding rod that goes inside the visor. I was going to run the wires inside the rod.
But after breaking numerous drill bits I gave up.
The top picture shows about two inches exposed wiring when the visor is down.
Before I installed the headliner I ran wires up the windshield pillar. It is a tight fit but it can be threaded.
