I am working on my Ferd 9". Will need to install new spring perches. Do they have ones that will lower the car or do you have to go with lower springs or blocks?

Hi Joey, unless the perches have an unusual amount of material below the U cut out, you'll have to go with lower springs or lowering blocks. If you have to go to a lowering block with very much thickness, the preferred method is to change the spring to prevent the rear end motions having too much leverage on the stock spring. Another option is to take your springs to a spring specialist (see truck spring/ driveshaft shops in your area) and have the spring eyes reversed--this can get you two inches or so lower. Or you can get creative like the trucks crowd and move the spring mounts upward onto the frame--hardest method on a tri-five. Be aware you may have to get a shorter shock or change the shock mounting process if you really go wild.

Joey, how much do you want to lower the car? Like Max said, the spring perches aren't going to do much of anything unless they're really thick to begin with. I personally think a pocket kit and/or different springs are the best way to lower the car. Blocks are probably the easiest and cheapest.

Looking at 1 1/2 to 2 inches if possible. I want to do a 4 bar setup mini tub later, so not wanting to dump a lot of money the other way. Just trying to get this 9" in now without too much down time. Trying to sell my house and funds are tight for the hot rod. I sent in my rotors to Strange last week to get drilled for chevy bolt pattern and Strange is making the axles too.

If it's a temporary thing I would do it the cheap way...lowering blocks. But don't use the cast ones. They have been known to break.
