Yep. I had a Ebay made in china master cylinder. The cylinder was scored and it took me a long time to figure out my problem.
I bought a CPP Master Cylinder and now everything is AOK. Just follow their instructions:

Right now have disc/drums, wonder if the residual valve can be removed when going to disc/disc? Thanks for the reply.

Yes, the residual valve not just can but should be removed with disc/disc.

You use a 10 psi residual valve with drum brakes, and you use a 2 psi residual valve with discs if the master cylinder is below the caliper, such as when you have a frame mounted master cylinder, like on a truck or street rod.

Rick its mounted in the stock location. Its for that Versailles rear end that I have yet to install!
