I want to install my LS engine in my 57 and maintain the battery in the stock location. It looks like I may have to notch the cross member to use a low mount AC compressor.
Does anyone have pictures of what set ups you have that will help me figure out what I will have to do.
I am open to finding or buying what I need if I have to. I have a complete bracket setup for a 2000 Camaro so that would be the first choice.
Any help appreciated

Tom

I don't think that the notches shown here are for pan clearance and not compressor clearance. The compressor notches I believe will be in the front side of the cross member.

Tom, the examples provided were more for illustration of what’s out there rather than a DIY tutorial. The two links provided were from a quick Google search. I search items like this by doing the following: “LS1 Crossmember 55 Chevy trifivechevys.com chevytalk.org trifive.com” then, it’s a matter of weeding through it. It take some time but the rewards can lead you to your answer quicker than using the “Search” function in each individual website, some of which you may not be a member of not that that has any relevance. I hope you find wha tyou need, best of luck!

Thanks,
I will give it a try.
I know I have seen some examples but can't remember where and have not yet had any luck finding them again.
