MOVED, now to Outfit the Shop

Well we have everything here from the shop in Texas so it's time to outfit a new
shop.

As most know, AIR in the shop is a must. With the sale of the Texas
home, I sold my compressor to the new owner, a TriFive owner with several
projects.

The new shop has a good size shop with two other attached
structures, one of which is now the compressor room. The old owner had used this
space for storage of his cabinet lumber and other items. Sadly, the PO had
passed several years back and this portion of the shop didn't receive a lot of
care. After an hour or so of cleaning and disposing of several old oak cabinet
skeletons, it has become a nice usable space for the compressor.

I
purchased a new Eaton from Polar Air Compressors. I decided on a horizontal
eighty gallon with 7.5 HP Four Cylinder that puts out 35 cfm. It should do
anything I need to do relative to air powered tools. My Glass Blast cabinet will
be in the same room saving valuable floor space in the main shop.

In
Texas, I had used a combination of PVC pipe, black pipe and some new 1/2"
plastic system. Here, I opted for the 3/4" Max Line. Presently, I'm in the
process of running the lines and fittings to all sections of the
shop.

Nice. I wish my compressor put out 35 CFM. I bought an Ingersoll Rand 5HP unit and thought the 15 CFM 2-stage pump would be plenty...it's not.

Looks good Nick wish I had that much room.:) Glad everything wen't good with the move. Now whatch ya goin to do with all that room? ;)

Well I have to get it to a usable state soon so I can get back to work on the Bronco and the 57 2 door HT. floor space is at a premium due to the structure design. It was a wood shop originally. So, big stuff like cars and the columns dividing the shop don't play well together.

The fortunate thing is I have a separate building that's 15x24 for all of the garden equipment and lawn equipment. I wish the forklift would fit under the overhead door but it has to go in the main shop.

We we will be putting an approach slab in front of the main shop to make things better pretty soon. I think a 25x40. I'll do it in a way that allows it to become an add on to the shop for covered parking later and then more shop space later if needed.

The approach slab is a good idea would like to do that with mine. I like the idea of being able to do some of the dirty work outside.

Sounds like you have a very nice place , I just got air lines is my shop took me 7 years. When I had my place in Vancover the compresser I had was a IR it was a 175 LB 15 HP and had 47.86 CFM but sounded like a harley when it fired up.
