CAR SHOW BANNER - Food For Thought

I was surfing the "other" sites for ideas on what to do to improve or grow the site. Icame upon a post of several members from a Chevrolet site sitting at a car showwith a very large banner behind them that indicated their allegiance to thisparticular site and it struck me that handing out cards and stickers mightprove more beneficial were those that handed them out might have an appointedspot to gather with a large banner to indicate their location(TriFiveChevys.com) within the show. While writing this post, it also occurred to me that was one to have aniPad (Wi-Fi) one could also offer to sign up interested people. It would require a bit of work but might beworth the effort.

It would be a great addition to the guys going to Bowling Green.

Good ideas Nick. Sid sent out several boxes of cards to some of us to hand out. I usually forget to take them when I go to car shows, which isn't very often. I need to remember to do so. I have invited lots of my customers and prospective customers to join.

I think our bigger challenge is to generate interesting tri5 related content here. I have signed up several members by giving them a discount on a C4 chassis or clip, but they rarely even show up here.

A lot of members seem to come here looking for "entertainment" and expect others to post interesting stuff for them to read. In order to do that, we have to hit some "critical mass" to get more people posting. It's like 3 guys sitting in a room looking at each other and waiting for someone to say something. If you put 10 guys in a room they can't keep their mouths shut because someone will say something to get the conversation going.

We only have 1360 members, and probably 50 who visit regularly, and a dozen or so who post. We need 3000-5000 members and several hundred who visit along with many more regular posters. And we need to better balance the non-car related stuff with the car-related stuff. JMHO.

I whole heartedly agree on the content. I also feel as though that those who do initiallycome here may be a bit turned off by the language. I was in hopes that the site wouldn't turn into a Bullet of Another Color. I justdon't see the need to have the explicative in any conversation; after all, thisis not the Sailor’s Sand Box.

Yep 2015 already have my room booked and will be registering in the next day or so. You ought to go would love to meet you then I won't be the only one that get's bashed by the other sit's member's lol. I talked with Chris (woody) while we were at the nsra nationals in KY,they do have a lot planed to do will be a good time.
