Went to a big show in Orange County last weekend. Saw a beautiful sedan with this interior. Loved it so much I took some pics and noticed I have the same Lexus seats in my Nomad as this guy used. Whaddayathink?

Cruise for a Cure. Do you have pics of the entire car? I'm not so sure the fabulous interior really flows with the body of the car

Damn that's pretty. Looks like close to the same colors I've been considering for mine. It's so well done that it looks like it could be an OEM interior to me, and I love the design and choice of colors and textures. I also like the hint of orange inside. What color was the car outside? Any idea who did it? Got any more pics?

What Lexus model/year are those seats from? Haven't seen any with that style of headrest.

Judging from the shape of the back seat, and the colors, I think this is the one.

The work looks great, but I don't like the headrests or the style of the back cushion inserts.

But that's what makes the world go around, we don't have to all like everything.

I saw a mix of like and don't like in the gallery photos. So the guy will do different stuff.

I've never cared for most any seat that sticks up higher then the top door edge on a TriFive.

There is no doubt that is some high quality stitching, I as well like the design although i am one who strays away from the light color (shows dirt) so that would not work for me. one other thing i think that i would of tried to get done is take the hump out the back seats.

That's fine, but to me it blocks your view from back window and that flat look of the package tray is lost.

I didn't get any more pics at the show, but the ones that Lee T posted are the same car.

The lexus seats come out of an early 2000's 2 door. (can't remember the model) because you need seats in a 2 door that can fold forward considerably.

The stock Lexus seats have headrests. They would definitely look goofy in a tri 5. I liked the way they incorporated "humps" instead of actual headrests, as this helps stabilize your head just a bit. Without the headrests, there's absolutely NO support if you ever get hit from behind. The way Elegant Interiors did the built in head humps appeals to me. It's a subtle solution to no headrests.

CNut- yes...the stitching and materials and overall build looked like OEM in todays cars to me as well. That's probably why I liked it so much. Definitely going to discuss my Nomad plans with these guys when I get to that point.

Paul, I agree with you on the humps. I don't like headrests in these cars, but those humps look good to me. I also like the contrasting stitching on the french seams and he did an awesome job fitting the leather. So many interiors I see have wrinkles and pleats that look bad. I didn't like his other interior jobs nearly as much.

This interior is making me wonder if I really should change my color scheme or not. I didn't want too much charcoal in it but this 2-tone is really nice. I have pretty much everything designed except my seats, and my interior guy is pushing me to do that.

As for the Lexus seats, I think they're a bit too small for these cars but I have seen them in a few tri5s. I have a pair of 90's SC300 seats that I decided not to use in favor of my Eldo seats which are just a little bigger.

Here's a couple pics of the Lexus seats:

I really Like it , But some don't . Like Rick says, It's what make the world go around. It's also what makes us still look and build cars & trucks.

I was at this show also and actually talked to these guys about doing my chevelles interior. They seemed reasonably priced for a high end interior. They are also located next door to a stereo shop so they can incorporate the stereo system into the car really nice.

Erik, can you tell me what "reasonably priced" means? I'm working on my interior now and have a guy lined up to do all the stitching. We traded labor....I built him a C4 conversion chassis and he's doing my interior. I'm just curious what the going rate for something like that is. I'm betting that interior was $20-25K or more. There's a helluva lot of man-hours in something that custom.

Would you know who installed the Lexus Seats and completed the interior to match ?

7589I like nice interiors, but holy cow. Where does it end? I would be freaked out to let anyone in the car! I like $250 interiors for that reason alone.7588

That's not all that bad for a full leather interior if that's what you're getting. My interior is going to cost $12K in JUST MATERIALS, not counting glue, foam padding, and threads. Good hides are going anywhere from $850-$1150 each and mine is going to need 6.5 hides, plus carpet and headliner. Just the perforation of 1.5 hides is running $1000. Larry told me he didn't think he could do it in 260 hours of labor, and that's after I've done most of the construction of door panels, rear seat, valence, and console. I don't know how many hours I have in all of that construction but it's probably a few hundred because I didn't know what I was doing :D. If you just want a stock-like interior you can get it done pretty cheap. High end custom interiors are running $30-40K+.

I'd probably sell them but won't ship.
