i'm restoring a 57 bel air to original specification and have a set of vintage 8" G/T Cragars wheels that i want to daily drive on vs the original bias blend tires does anyone know of a tire that will fit on the front i have a totally original front suspension and i don't want to rub anything can anyone help !

The problem is the 8" wheel is pretty wide and you need at least an 8 1/2" or 9" tire on it. The total wheel width is 9". An 8 1/2" tire is a 215 and a 225 is a little under 9". I don't know how well the 215 would work but if the sidewall is tall enough it should be ok.

The other variable is the wheel offset/backspacing. I assume those wheels are zero offset. That makes your front end 68" wide with the 215s.

Your car seems to sit pretty high at stock height based on your avatar so I don't think you'll have rubbing problems with the 215 tires. Make sure they work on your wheels.
