    Winter Project ProCharger 427 SBC

We guys, this year putting on a F1 Procharger to the little SBC. lol! Since I have to go with a remote PS setup, going with hydra-boost system. Will need to verify the dimensions from the firewall to the end of my MCPV MC, due to the inlet of the procharger. Did find out will have to notch the valve cover a bit so the supercharger will fit. Will post some pics.

Nice project. that's all gonna be a tight fit for sure. A hydroboost (with CNut's bracket) and a stock early gen Corvette style M/C stick out 14 1/2 inches from the firewall.

Its the distance from the firewall towards the front of the car. The hydra boost will work. Will have to move the lines a bit. I was able to massage one of the bolts loose from the firewall, but the others will be difficult...go figure!

Sounds like a fun winter project JT looks like there will be more surprises for those that think these trifives are just doddlers to drive

Actually I did some reading on the ECI setup. Seems like nobody's really serious about it because they think it's "magic" and doesn't work.

                        Here's what I found out....

The problem with small bore master cylinders that are used to increase pressure is that they cause more pedal travel. This is because less fluid is displaced as the pedal moves forward. With the larger bore master cylinders you displace more fluid, but get less line pressure.

So apparently ECI uses a dual-piston arrangement in the "booster" section where the larger piston displaces the fluid to fill the calipers, then the smaller piston takes over to apply the pressure. Apparently fork lifts use a similar braking setup, and it's also found on floor jacks that move up quickly with no load but then move in smaller increments with a load.

Pretty ingenious, but it doesn't seem to be catching on. I wonder why?

Well today I removed the brake assembly so I could remove those 4 bolts. Was able to massage one with a hammer but the others were a little more stubborn!
