Not my cup-0-tea... build quality is super nice.. If we all built the same thing, it might get a bit boring. Seems they're pushing the envelope

I don't know about that Rick_L, I've followed a few of those diesels burning cooking oil and for some reason I craved french fries!!!!

I think it's going to be a brute. A friend of mine put a Duramax in his 55 so it's been done before....and it didn't "stink". ;) I rode in it once and the torque was incredible.

The workmanship is pretty good and there's a lot of issues they had to overcome to make it work. There are some things I noticed...first I don't like the color combo. Maybe it looks better in real life. I saw a yellow and silver 56 at Goodguys Spokane and it was stunning.

I wonder if he plans to steer it:

I think he seriously compromised the integrity of the front crossmember and I wonder what's going to hold the suspension in alignment.

FYI freight trains don't have to steer much lol. I was wondering the same thing when I saw that picture .The latter pics appear to have a narrower tire up front.

Looks like the same tires to me. Tread is the same but the last inboard section looks narrower. They're still huge.

The paint colors aren’t to my personal tastes, but the general direction of the build is ambitious none the less. I guess if you start with a fairly incomplete or bad Nomad body and frame, you might as well go big on the resto. If that was a super clean, rust free, nearly stock starting point, then I personally wouldn’t tear into it quite as much as this guy has. But to each his own. I do like all the pics of the interior sheet metal work, as it’s helped me on my own project to see how he tackled it. So I give this one a thumbs up.

The biggest issue I think he has is that cutout in the crossmember. I thought maybe the engine was being used as a structural member with solid body mounts, but that doesn't look like it's the case. If there's any movement at the engine mounts, that crossmember is going to sag badly, imo.

I think it would have looked better with a brighter silver than it does with that grayish darker silver. The yellow-orange is an interesting choice of color.

I saw one of those rotisserie demonstrated at a swap meet in Lincoln Ne, pretty cool.

The colors are different...but I'm sure will look good when all the trim is back on
