That likes completely factory stock trifives? Now thats not to say I don't like em modified, cause I do, if there done
nice. But stock is the way mine will stay. The 5 still has an original 6cyl in it. The 56 does have a crate block cause the 265 died, but it does look stock.

Dwight, looks like you have a couple of really nice cars there. I'm more of a modified person myself because I like to design and fab stuff. I can appreciate a nice restoration to original, but like the modified cars better. I guess we all have to be different in some way. It's all good.

Hang in there, as membership grows there's sure to be more stock original guys.

Love the old bone-stock 55-57 Chevrolets ; that's a whole other obsession in itself . You're not alone ; the only stock item I can't live with on the old cars is their single-acting brake master cylinders . I crashed a beautiful 64 Chevy van due to a rear wheel cylinder failure , and ever since , I've updated the brake system on every single-acting mastered car that came into the shop . Other than that one update , there isn't really anything that begs to be changed about these vintage cars . Be safe....Bob.

I've always loved the stock 55,56,57 Chevys and will continue to do so. All of America fell in love with them, and being typical Americans--we could NOT leave them alone. They have provided more research & development hours than just about any automobile you can name. Fuel injection, electronics, suspension, and many of our "improvements" to our daily drivers came from these cars.

Yours look GREAT. Keep them to remind us of our origins.

I like hot rods and modifieds if they're done nicely, but have always had a keen eye for a nicely restored original. To me though, if it's going to be an original, it's gotta be bone stock with it's original drive line, interior and wheels etc. If it's been restored, then it should be done with factory paint, factory underside colors on the bottom of the floors, and everything should be detailed like the day it left the factory. I like a restoration that's done to satisfy a purists perspective, and also like original drivers and nice looking survivors.

Here's a 57 that was at the Omaha show a couple weeks ago. Restored to the nines 4 years ago, it's original right down to that beautiful factory air cleaner. Dual quads to boot.

That's a beauty of a '57 Clint! It's amazing how long many of us have had our cars! I've had my Nomad since 1973.
