Original 1955 nomad OEM tire size?

I've read that the original OEM tire size for the 1955 Chevy nomad is a 6.50-16. Is this correct? I also see 6.70-15 as specified for the original nomad. I thought all 55's had 15 inch wheels.

1948 Chevy car had 6 hole wheels and 16 inch tires, in 1949 they went to 5x4 3/4 BC and 15s until 57.

Original 55 passenger car tire size was 6.70-15. None of these cars had 16's.
