Hi all,

I am new to this web site so I apologize if I am not following protocol.

I am looking for a new 15 inch original looking steering wheel to fit the original column.

Several websites and companies offer an original looking wheel however there are warning that they are not 'show quality'. Feed-back from folks who have purchased them talk about poor quality and returning them. When the seller states the product is not show quality makes me concerned.

My Victory red 57 Sports Coupe is in very nice condition but not a concourse show car. The interior is all new with Victory red vinyl and black/red cloud material as original except I had it done in tuck & roll design. So |I am looking for a really good quality 15" steering wheel (black wheel with original style horn ring and Belair centre piece. Does anyone have a suggestion where I could purchase one. Danchuk does not have 15" wheels.

Thanks

They're all over Ebay for sale. They come black so you won't have to repaint. The bad quality rap came mostly from when they were first introduced, quite a few years ago. I had one about a year ago and it was decent out of the box.

also got one off eBay (put on a 55 I had) a few years ago and it was fine. one thing to think about is its size. didn't have power anything and that size wheel does make it harder to turn in small areas.

Probably a better way to go is a wheel that's made from the spokes of a stock wheel and the rim of a 60s GM wheel. This gives you a 16-1/2" wheel, in between the stock 18" and the little 15" wheel. You can use the stock horn ring with this style.

This is something you can do yourself or there's a couple of people that do them to order commercially.
