I'm ready to do a sway bar on front of our 55. Without rocking the boat can I ask if any one has had experiences with Oldedays Classic Parts? Thanks.......

Sorry I have sway bars on both my 55 and 56 but I bought one From CCI and the other from a swap meet. They are a nice addition.

a swaybar will be a definite improvement in handling. Almost no matter which one you put on.. a lot of them are made by Addco as Chevynut has posted.

hargis, find out what bar oldedays is selling.

Any bar is a good addition, but bigger is generally better.

I've heard if of a huge problem with anyone's front sway bar, with this one exception - if you have front mounted disc brake calipers, they may hit the sway bar when the wheels are turned max.

does anyone know if a Hellwig 55822 and 5822 will work on my 57 210 9 passenger wagon?

According to Summit Racing: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hel-55822/applications it doesn't "exclude" wagons but I'd call rather than risk it. I suspect the only possible interference in the rear would be the fuel tank but I have no concrete knowledge on that. With the exception of Rick's comment the front shouldn't have issue either. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hel-5822/applications

If the rear bar doesn't fit a wagon as a bolt on, you might be able to make it work anyway. As Nick suggested, a phone call should help out.

I have the 55822 fitted on my nomad. You have to roll the ubolts fwd on the rear axle tubes its noted in their instructions to clear the tank. Still I plan to trim the sharp points off the brackets on the axle incase the sway bar hits something in front and rotates the bracket on the axle it could puncher a wagon tank not good. It happened on same bar on my other car but no tank to hit so was easy to fix. Other than that it appears to fit ok. Mine is lowered About 1.5 inches in the rear

Rick I run this same sway bar on my 65 olds. Sense the bar points fwd and hangs below the frame rails there is potential to hit something in our case it happened we hit a broken curb pulling out of a gas station it pushed he ubolt clamp around the axle until the the bar hit the axle. If thats happens on a trifive wagon it will surely damage the tank. I contacted helwig no reply. The guys we met on tour with tge 55 wagon had the helwig bar that point back like most traditional rear bars. Their punchered the seam on a repop wagon tank on the way to the tour.
I may even weld mine to the axle if I cannot trim enough of the ubolt bracket to prevent possibility.

this is it mounted on the mad note clamp is rotated fwd on axle

Rocky, sure looks like those clamps are located awfully far inboard on the axle for the swaybar to be very effective. Can you move them outboard any?

Yes I believe it can be moved out some it is loose fit on the axle in that pic. But there not alot of room in tge design it self to move outbd much. These are pics of aka Dave Hellwigs 57. I'll note he didn't follow there on instructions lol. The link that connects the front of the swaybar is suppose to be vertical in the center hole when installed his are not. Also note his clamps are welded to the rearend no ubolts. This is because its probably a 9inch ford I would suspect.

The axle brackets on the red Nomad are almost as far outboard as practical. Notice that the bar is shaped to clear the shocks and lower shock mount plates. While spreading the axle mounts is good, it's probably not a big deal.

The update from Hellwig is ...the 5711 and 5811 Hellwig units are compatible with the 57 9 passenger wagon.
