Have a Classics Instruments Belara dash in my 55---having problems with oil pressure gauge--since day one it has been erractic and low---have worked with techs at Classic Instruments and have replaced the sending unit 3 times now---will work great for awhile--good oil pressure and then gradually get to about 25 PSI at 3000 rpm fully warmed up--needle will jump around a bit and shows an increase on deceleration--can hook up mechanical gauge and constant 45 PSI at 3000 rpm cruising and 25 at idle---getting ready to contact them again tomorrow and see what can be done--any insight for someone here--thanks

Obviously, there's a problem with that gauge design. Since they're not inexpensive I guess you're kind of stuck with it unless you want to scrap the whole thing and go to another brand. Best of luck.

Is Classic Instruments the one where the guy goes ballistic if you question anything he sells or is that a different company?

They have been more than gracious and pleasant with me..It has a 5 year warranty--next step is probably sending dash in and get checked out.--jsut a little inconvenient but winter is coming and car will be put up in a couple of weeks anyway

that is the time of year I use to work on cars and not sweat my ass off
I have that same gauge cluster...no issues with mine. They seem like they have great customer service.

Ground is good---They have been very helpful--only other problem is illumination

I use the superbright LED in my car. Made a huge difference in the gauge set! I believe its a tower BA9 Cool White

They sent me LED upgrade that is super bright--but doesn't work off headlight rheostat--needs LED rheostat--bought one but haven't decided if I will use it or modify back of cluster to add bulb to illuminate the temp gauge

Sorry to say no--haven't driven car for awhile---Father-in-law had knee replacement, then fell and broke leg--then when we got him home after some rehab he fell again and rebroke leg--so between trips to Hospital, rehab, taking him home and then back to hospital--really haven't had time to do too much-- Just yesterday was able to get back out to the garage and see what was still there. Hopefully will get it out here soon and see--thanks for asking

if the gauge is analog then grounding the gauge with deflection then its ok , I have to ask where was the sending unit made I installed one on a truck and I went through five, they all had dead spots , these came from mexico , the company found they had a bad run on the units that were sent out.

Update on gauge---still the same--oil pressure will still go down on acceleration--hooked up mechanical gauge and it read close to 50psi at 3000 in neutral
thanks
