Need a length suggestion for a 57 210.The driver is a big guy and the car will be using the oem bench seat..The car has a front steer aftermarket clip with a ford r&p.

Since I use front-steer C4 rack and pinions I've dealt with this and I suggest you mock it up with a steering shaft and see where it clears your exhaust and everything else the best, then intersect it with the steering column to determine the length needed. Also, I'd shove the steering wheel as far forward as you can or the tilt column will put it right in your face. You may have to modify the instrument cluster bezel to move it forward far enough for comfort.

I have a lot of room around the engine.I ordered 30” tilt column but I am going to get a 30” non tilt column instead .

Personally I'd go with a 32" one, based on my experience. The reason is the 30" ones barely come through the firewall and are meant to be used with a steering box where there's almost no room between the box and the firewall. A 32" one will give you more sticking out since you don't have that issue. If a 30" non-tilt one has more length between the top bezel and the u-joint end that might work ok. I used a vibration damping Borgeson u-joint at the top connection and a regular u-joint at the rack.

Sounds like a clip from Progressive.
