Hi Guys,
for my car id like a good set of headers that are street oriented and don't cost much ground clearance.
The frame horns are still in use so 4-1 long tube headers would hang really low.
Also i notice that most headers are for a 350+ engine and have reasonably large primary tube.
I'm looking for more street oriented manners.
Using the various calculators i keep finding that the primaries should be less than 1.5" OD.
Are there headers that would fit the bill? Peak torque at 3500 and usable for a 283.

thanks

Nick

Seems to me that you might want to look at using stock cast iron manifolds or a 3/4 length header for your situation. I don't know if I've ever seen headers with smaller than 1 5/8" tubes. Something like these should work...

Here's some inexpensive stainless ones. Check the details on any of these before buying.

Thought about 2.5 outlet rams horn manifolds, Speedway has a good price on them.

Currently I have the 2 inch rams horn manifolds installed.
The suggested 3/4 length headers look nice, but the Trickflow cylinder heads are angle plug.
That does complicate it a bit. ☺️
Diy would also be a good solution.
