Dear Bob:

Hope Mother's Day in Hawaii was great!

I have two questions for members on the list. Several mailings ago, a
reader asked for break in procedures on his newly rebuilt 265 V8. I never
saw a reply. I am interest because I am rebuilding my original 283 with
chrome rings. I have heard all the arguments pro and con and still believe
it is the best choice. I also know that special care needs to be taken to
break these engines in. Can anyone recommend a starting "break-in" oil for
the first 200 miles or so? Could someone also recommend a break-in
procedure in terms of speeds, distances and times? All information
appreciated.

My second question refers to the replacement of the oil bath elements with
paper filters. Numerous replies have been posted regarding filter elements
from Fram and K&N for 4-bbl carbs. Any ideas on replacement elements for a
2-bbl Rochester carb? I agree the oil baths are messy and would like to do
something different as long as the alternative is a relatively simple
drop-in. Many thanks for all the helpful hints and readers out there.

Hi Bob, Thanks to Wyatt Smolick on the tip of the '57 Sedan Delivery on
ebay. It is the same car I sold at Myrtle Beach in March. It is not a Bel

Air as stated & had a 327CI engine w/TH400 when I sold it. The car was a
fun
driver while I had it, not perfect & was never intended to be. It has no
back seat. Most people will mistake it for a 2dr wagon and want to know
what
happened to the back seat. I caught a man trying to pull the floor up at a

show. He was sure the seat was stuck!!. Jim SE NC ljkoconnor@aol.com

P.S. Have a few items for sale, '57 hood and radiator support, '56 210 2dr

side stainless; 2 dr sedan interior window moldings, front & back
windshield
stainless (210), '57 235 engine & trans complete runs great no smoke.

I found a company that gives 15 mb of website space and all the tools
online to build your site.
It only costs $100 a year and you can put pics of your cars or whatever.
They also pay you back when other people get a website that you refer. It's
a pretty good deal I am learning how to do web pages so I can put the
progress of my 55 Belair on the net so my out of town family can see it.(My
Brother is an old car nut).
www.skynary.com/3dsenterprises will give you all the info.
