Bob, just wanted to thank you for doing such a great job with your list.
I
have notices that for the last week or so it is no longer a "LIST" It has
become a "LISTL" (check the Subject line.) LIST or LISTL keep up the good
work!

Someone on the list was asking for a 1955 Chev wiring diagram recently.
I now have a one-page one that could be electronically transmitted to
him if it is still needed. Contact me directly if desired

I noticed another seller on eBay selling "an original - not reprint" '55
shop manual that is indeed a reprint. Whoever printed the reprints did
such a good job by including the "Copyright,1954" date on the first
inside page, that many people mistakenly think they are original. There
are three differences between an original and reprint. The first two
are very obvious by looking at the front cover. 1) The upper and lower
right side corners on the original are rounded with about a 3/8"
radius. 2) A price of $1.50 is on the front cover at the bottom on the
right side. You have to open the manual to see the third. 3) Pages
7-50 through 7-55 have color on the powerglide transmission drawings
showing the oil circuits in different gears. Originals are nice to
have, especially for the color transmission drawings but don't believe
all sellers.

Good morning Bob,

could I please post this question to your list for the members to help me
with.
Bob, will a 1962 positract 3.08 Diff fit into a standard 1957 diff housing?
Also if so is it possible to use the original 57 axels or do the splines
differ?
Many thanks,
Peter Hall.

Bob,

Last Tuesday, List member Harold Wilkes had a heart attack. He is still
in intensive care and is undergoing tests daily.

Harold's wife Vickie has suggested that he might benefit from email "Get
Well" wishes from all his Chevy friends on the List.

So List members, please take a few minutes to write a couple words of
encouragement for Harold and Vickie Wilkes. The good it could do them
may be immeasureable.

The email address is HaroldWilkes@email.msn.com

Thanks,

Steve Pratt

hi!

I thought it would be a good idea to make a listing of as many drive-in
movie theatres as possible. Anyone who knows of a drive-in no matter
where - please post the name, city, state and any
other info either to this list or to my email - lou1@primenet.com.

There are 3 in my area and will post the info real soon.

thanks!

Bob,
Thanks for a great site. I have been wondering for
a while where chevrolet came up with the 150 series and the 210 series. I
know the
150 was the least expensive and did not have much chrome on it, and the 210
was more loaded with chrome and other items also. It looks like they would
have had 150 and then doubled it to make 300 series. I think I read a story
on this a long time back but have forgot how they come to the numbers. Also
I
was wondering if anyone remembered the Sonic 15 or 20 years ago had a
promotional thing going on to register to win a 1957 Chevrolet Convertible
and it was Ringo Starrs car or he was having something to do with it,
because I have a card
some where with the car on it and a picture of him on there also they gave
me
with my purchase.
Just Wondering

Thanks, Stan turley@steward-net.com

Hello Bob, Ditto's on the SUPER SITE :). For an answer to Michael Stevens
Question on finding a set of 3/4 length headers. Just the other day I came
across a add in "Drive Magazine" ( driveonline.com ) saying, Need Headers?,
block huggers, Mid-length (3/4), Full Length and etc... It was from "
RodWorks " Street Rod Headers, Camarillo, California 1-805-987-9060. For a
coated set it is listed for $250. Hope this helps.

For PLUM carpet I'd try Ciadella's in Tempe,AZ (they were
bought out/partnered/joined/merged/whatever with CARS1). It's obviously
not stock but they should be able to make ya' something you'll like.
Reasonable is depending on whether you're the buyer or seller and how
much you WANT it.

info 480-968-4179

For the 210 interior try them too! They were willing to put any material
they had into our 57 when we went shopping, so if they can get the
material they should be able to make your seat covers.

According to CCI, the 55 Dark brown and beige combo #511 for sedans is
still available. They claim the 210 del ray vinyl on the doors isn't
available anymore though.

it at home, I will check to see if it has front end torque specs and let
