I hope someone can help me. I have a 55 Nomad that has a tire pressure
decal on the door. It
shows the correct pressure you should have in the tires. Almost everyone
that has seen the decal
says it must have been an after market addition as they have never seen
another Nomad with such
a decal.

Does anyone know if this decal was put on at the factory?

Bob please post.

Anyone out there still running original 55 6cyl? I'm looking for air
cleaner
element, the original (or the one in my car) is a mesh screen with a foam
washable element. It was replaced with a new one from C&P PN# 10480 which
is
no longer avail. The foam element has disintegrated over the past 15 years
and particles were aspirated into the carb which required disassembly and
cleaning to run again. Anyone know where a replacement is avail or a paper
element that will fit the original black box air cleaner? Please e-mail to

For those of you who like event T-shirts or sweatshirts some new left
over shirts from our recent toy/food drive car show are being auctioned
on ebay, and can be located with this url.

These shirts feature a background of the U.S. flag, but the red stripes
of the flag have been replaced with rows of 57 Chevys and the stars have
been replaced with the Chevy Bowtie emblems. There are also other cars
featured including a 56 Nomad and 41 Willys. I doubt, they will all
sell, but if you can't win an auction, but are interested in purchasing
either of these, please email me after the new year.

It must be the season to inherit cars. My wife just got notified that she
is inheriting a used 67
Mohs. At least I think it is a car from the description she got from a
lawyers letter. It might be a
motorcycle. I have not heard of this brand of cars. I hope some of your
list people can help me. I
was very much interested in cars in 1967. I though I knew every brand
there was and I never
heard of a Mohs. That is why I think it might be a motorcycle or a
scooter. It might also be a
foreign car but I don't think so. I checked the Old Cars price guide and I
could not find a Mohs
listed in either the domestic or foreign.

I would like to know the value of this 67 Mohs. We have to go about 100
miles to pick it up. I
hope it is worth the trip.

BILL

Editor's note. Bill, it will be worth the trip. Mohs are VERY VERY rare.

Bob, I have a 55 convert that I modified. I need a convert part, I don't
know what it is called so I'll try to describe it. It is the stainless
steel part (drivers side) that connects the bottom and top of the stainless
steel windshield trim pieces. It is different than the hard top as it is
slightly "u" in shape. The one I have has two large bullet holes in it, a
shop tried to fix it but you can still tell it was damaged. Can you and
your friends help, e-mail Rick at drennar@attglobal.net .
I love the stories, cars for sale and the parts for sale! Keep up the great
work and I wish you and all your 567 friends a happy and safe holiday
season.

Re the question on Crosley back in the 12/08/01 issue (sorry, I was away on
vacation!): I'm by no means a Crosley expert, however my late father and
great
uncle did own a Stude dealership back East when I was a kid. My father
often
brought cars they'd taken in trade home (so he could see if they were
running
properly prior to placing them on sale in their used car lot).

I recall riding in a little Crosley wagon when I was five or six. I know
there
was a wooden stick under the seat with some marks on it that my dad used to
check the fuel level. I don't recall any gauge on the instrument panel,
which
was pretty bare (other than the speedometer). Possibly there had originally
been
a rod attached to the gas cap for checking the level as suggested - and
that
this had broken off.

Whatever, your list item has jogged a memory from over 50 years ago, Bob!

Bob, We have been users of seat belts in our vehicles from the very first
one we built, a 1930 Model A Ford street rod. No one could even ride in
any
of our vehicles until they put their belts on. They would say it's not the
law and we would say, it is the law in our vehicles. A True Believer, Carl

Bill,

Congrats on finding your car! Your story really hit home for me as I have
been searching for my 55 2 door wagon that I sold out of SC in 1978, SN

I would hope that everyone that owns a wagon or can look at a friends wagon
could tell me where my old wagon is, reward offered. What a high that had
to be for you, good luck with your Nomad.

Happy Holidays everyone. In answer to Carl Johnson- Yes there was a Muntz
automobile. It was made in the early 50s by a man referred to as Mad Man
Muntz. When the cars didn't work out, he made TV sets, or maybe it was the

other way around. He did not make drive trains, but offered choices to his

customers. Fred Roth of the Milestone Car Society has a beautiful restored

model with, I think, a Lincoln drivetrain. He shows it every year at the
Father's Day show in 1000 Oaks, CA.

Hi Bob
I haven't written in quite a while and I would just like to say how much I
look forward to receiving this list every week. I have learned so much,
from these great people, who are so dedicated to keeping these old cars on
the road. I have a question to ask if I could? A while back I asked where I
could send a Bendix Power break unit, that I bought at a swap meet, to have
it rebuilt. A fella wrote back and told me, but sense then I had my
computer upgraded, and I didn't save it. If any one would know where would
be the best place to have it rebuilt I would appreciate it. Also if any one
has a 57 accessory installation manual the would part with please let me
know. You know Bob some times I have to laugh, because most people don't
have a clue as to how much effort and money it takes to restore one of
these old cars. I would like to share something with you if I could? A
couple of years ago I took my 57 Belair 2dr ht to a car show. I don't take
it to many. A fella came up to me and said, " That a sharp car." I said,
"Thanks". He said, "You know that would really be a nice one if it was an
Impala". I just smiled and said, You know your probably right".
Thanks everyone and

would have a very rare car indeed.
