I think I like the 56 best too, because they are all BelAirs and I love the BelAir side trim. I had a chance to buy a 56 convertible a few years ago along with about 5-6 other parts cars, but I didn't move on it. I don't know whatever happened to them.

My problem is, I like all 3 years.

I must admit I like the 56 also. I hate to say it but it is the best looking convert.

1957 which I am building.
Had a 56.
Could have bought a 55 in 1983 for $5k. Yep; still kicking myself.

I think the 57 makes the best convertible, the fins add a touch of style, same with the nomads.

I've always preferred the 55's ; that was the year they broke the mold on the old rounded bodies and got it done with their first V8 ...and could they put it to the Fords . Be safe...Bob.

i like them all as well, its hard to choose. ill say this tho, when i see a 57 chevy, any model, driving on the street, theres nothing quite like the front end and side alluminum inserts of a 57 chevy.

I love '55 Chevys, period. I have had 4 '55 sedans and 2 Converibles, 1 '57 conv which had a glass tilt front end and the firewall moved back ala gasser with the stock front suspension, 1 real '57 gasser with engine setback, straight axle, and a tilt front end. I also had 1 "57 hardtop. This was in the early 70's.

My best car of my youth was my "55 Conv with a 396/375hp, turbo 400, and 4.11 gears. That car was a lot of fun. I am thinking about getting another '55 if I can find a decent project.

Probably the '57 because my dad bought one new & I've own 3 in my time (not all at once). I like the '55 & 56's as well even though I never owned either year but had opportunities but passed up on it. It'd be nice to own all 3 years.

Let's do an experiment - give me all three, in perfect condition, I'll drive each for 4 months and decide on the winner!

I have had 2) 55 Chevy and 1) 57 Chevy convertibles. My best 55 Conv had a 396/375 in it with a T400 and 4.11 gears. My best running car of my 20's.

1955 the only year for a real nomad lol. I like them all as well. Growing up 56 was the least desirable but over the years I have really come to like them in belair trim. Who cant like a 57.

I have to say the 57 is my least favorite Tri5. The front end looks heavy like a Cadillac with that big bumper. They're cool and all, but the 55 and 56 are better looking cars, imo. I like the 55 front end, and the 55 Nomad rear wheel openings and eyebrows/spears. But the 56 BA side trim is the best of all 3 years, imo.

I like 56 convertibles, again because of the BA side trim.
