My name is Ralph, I live in East Texas, and I've been building a 55 210 2 door pro street for what seems like about 100 years. But, my goal is that I plan to drive it in 2018. The frame is finished, (I hope) and the 350/700R4, is bolted in place. I am currently working on smoothing the fire wall and preparing to paint it so I can put the body on the frame. I will try to post pictures as soon as I can so maybe some of you guys that actually know about building a 55 can clue me in that maybe I need to forget it and go buy a fishing boat. Bye for now.

Welcome to the site Shoebox! I sure understand where you're coming from. I've been working on my 56 Nomad for too many years too, but it's getting closer to completion every day. I look at it like I do hiking....every step is that much closer to your destination. My problem is I have too many hobbies that take a lot of time. Show some pics when you get a chance! :)

Welcome aboard, Ralph! And hang in there. Remember...... For those of us who build our own cars its mostly about the journey (the build)...... Not the destination. Besides, they are never really finished anyway and almost always remain works in progress to one degree or another.

Happy Motoring,

Harry

Been working on my 56 for over 11 years now. I'm close to being able to drive it, but still have plenty to do. I retired last week, so hopefully I'll have lots more time to devote to it now.

Welcome! Sounds like your ride is going to be awesome when you get it on the road, best of luck with it!

Welcome to the site Shoebox. Lots of us with the same long term build plan happening. :( You're in a good therapy group here. :p

Post some pics of your ride, so we can encourage you.
