I'd be concerned it would slip away, too. I use a cushion when I have to do that stuff, but prefer to use the lift when I can.

The wife is always buying new throw pillows so I have a constant supply of old ones. I keep one in the trailer and a couple of them in the garage.

I have one of those but haven't used it very much. I have a pad I believe I bought from Northern Tool that is something like 2" of foam mounted on plastic. It is about 12" by 18" and has a handle on each side. I use it all the time.

For me getting down is easy , its the getting up that sucks.

My wife bought me one of those The Bone creepers. Although I haven't used it much, it needs some type of hydraulic lift to get me up.
