I thought the methodology and equipment were pretty cool. I have been filing wrong, all these years.

If you had Big Daddy for a shop teacher in HS you would know this already, something like 90% of metal removed going foward, while 90 % of wear on file occurs going backward.

When I saw the title I thought this was going to be about taxes, LOL.

Hi markm, so you totally disagree with the testing results shown in the video?

Hey markm,
Ok, the post wasn't political..., and I would say, not BS.
Do you disagree with the test results from the video? Do you really believe the stats you posted? If so, does that make any sense to you, that the harder file would be worn down so much on the back stroke, by the softer metal being filed?
Regards, Doug

I really dont know but it makes sense to me that backwards motion does little. I have not used a file much lately. But know a cheese grader file only cuts going foward.

Sure you have, that is an exhaust tubing bender. A buddy if mine from HS worked at Midas, we used to do my stuff after hours.

Sid

Did you get the 'cards' which describe how to bend to factory specs for common car exhaust??

Hello Gary ,

No I did not, I was thinking of buying it , I think its $695.00 Kind Of High .

Thanks Sid

Our exhaustive BendData card system guides you step-by-step when fabricating original equipment exhaust and tailpipes. Coverage encompasses domestic and light trucks as far back as 1965. Comes with fully-illustrated reference catalog and a rotation dial for standard or mirror image bending. Annual updates available.

Please note that the CS-1 Card System does not ship with the Benders and must be purchased separately.

$695 does seem a bit high for a set of 'cards'... do they think they are in the software business? :)

A shop I hung around in the 70s had a card deck, surprised it is not in some BS electronic format by now.
