I have been building my 55 for a little over 2 years now, should be roadworthy in a few weeks.

Cool, Is the paint original? It has the correct paint scheme for a 210 unlike my 210 which has the Belair style 2 tone.

... :) ... Who doesn't like a car with original paint underneath 'pinto primer'... Love it! ... reminds me of most of the '55 hot rods of the late 50's and 60's..

Yep, the grey on body is the original color...whats left of it, and the white paint on roof is original.

I'm trying to make the car look like "Hot Rod" from the 60's or 70's....I even have Towel City cheater slicks on rear...front tires are Firestone Radials, shaped like bias ply...so all for tires are radial with the bias ply look. Engine is a "Blueprint Engines" 383 stroker, 453 hp, and 490 torque. Transmission is built 350 turbo with 4 clutches, shift kit, Hughes 2500 converter, rearend 3:55 posi.

After a second look I wonder if you painted the patina, it doesn't have the right pattern.

Heres the way the car was 2.5 years ago when I bought it....it was sitting since 1973.

Nice job. With so much paint missing and fairly light rust, I was thinking a southwest car, but they rust from the top down and the top looks pretty good. Great find.

Dumb me, I thought the local guy who painted trannies smurf blue was out there.

Just a quick question for Markm... :)

Did you see his transmission as being 'smurf blue' ??? :)

If so, have you seen your eye doctor recently? Do they give color tests at your doctor's office? :)

You missed my point that bright green is out there with Tim's Smurf Blue trannies.

LOL I had that thought after... those colors ARE eye catching! ;) Not that I'd want my underneath parts painted like that! :)

Probabally a dumb question but what is the purpose of the flat center caps on the rear, there is a local with a Bubbletop that has them too.

THey did this in the 60's, so I did too, bought them on eBay

It just covers up the dust caps (front) or the axle ends in the rear. Didn't they originally come with a cap on them?

I was thinking maybe it had to do with drag or something.
