kick panel vent seal replacement

Hi everyone,

I am wanting to replace the seals on my kick panel / toe board vent doors. Can anybody give me some wisdom on how to replace these without destroying them?

I've done it on my '57, using felt pieces to replace the seal... not sure how the '55-56 is different?
