Our '56 has the battery box mounted on the right front side next to the radiator. It looks like it came from the factory that way. I'm wondering if it's the same as the battery box in a '57? Does anyone know the length and width dimensions for the '57 battery Box?

I think '55-56 Factory Air cars had the battery box up front similar to '57 std battery mounting.

Yes, I can measure the '57 battery box for you and provide a photo as well if you like? I suspect the size of the bottom of the batter box for '55-56 FA cars would be similarly sized to the '57 std battery box bottom, but the mounting is different due to the differences in the inner fenders (between '55-6 and '57).

Well, I keep forgetting that I've got painted parts all over the hood (on a blanket) of my '57 sedan, so checking that isn't easy, and I couldn't quickly locate the new replacement battery tray I have for the Nomad, but from the internet, here is what a '57 battery box looks like...

I'm pretty sure that the standard battery for all trifive years are group 24. The dimensions of a group 24 battery is 10-1/4 long, 6-13/16 wide, and 8-7/8 high. The group 24 is the same length and width as the group 34 but the 24 is an inch taller in height.

13252Thanks for your help. That looks like the one in our '56. Ours has the same 3 holes and measures 10 1/4" X 6 15/16". Our engine compartment has a lot of dress-up goodies and my wife wants me to install a chrome battery box. I wanted to make sure the '57 box is what I need before I purchase one.
