Everyone has them including O 'Rielys they are cheap. No good reason FOR A 10 in these cars ad the stock bell accepts them. -
Thanks for the advice. I will definitely upgrade on the next one. Do you think Summit has the 11" flywheel ?Leave a comment:

I have not ran a small 10 inch clutch since high school, I got real good and fast at changing them in my Camaro on drive on ramps . I would switch out to an ll inch flywheel the good news is 55-57 bellhousing will take an 11 inch flywheel.Leave a comment:

I got my new clutch installed and test drove around town. Its working great. I really appreciate the help from you guys.
The Next project is getting the gas gauge to work.

OD of the 11 inch wheel is the same as the 10 you have now and has an168 tooth ring gear if you have a stock bellhousing. The mounting surface for the pressure plate is bigger.Leave a comment:

The outside diameter of my flywheel with the teeth just barely fits in the housing . That would be a nice upgrade . Especially if Richard has a sale on transmissions .LoLLeave a comment:

Good deal, you're right, I slipped a digit!
In days gone by, I used to run exclusively Muncie transmissions, but the last decade or so, it's been 6-speeds. Over the prior decades I collected Muncie transmissions and parts, M20, M21 and some M22. After I retired, I rebuild a number of them. Not sure now what I'm going to do with the collection...

I've been suggesting that Richard SELL his Muncie collections since I first saw it (while there is still a demand for them)... Depending on what cars they came from, and what dates there are still RESTORERS searching for correct Muncies (and even more so if one of them actually has the VIN from a car being restored!). As time goes on the demand (and $Value) will decrease as it's already happening since most Muncies are actually worn out from so many years of use.
Richard is good on 'Restoring' 4 speeds; he helped me (He actually did most of the work) in restoring my 62 Corvette BW T10 trans a couple of years ago... (made me wonder how many he TORE UP in his youth!)..Leave a comment:

As have ran them cheap as flywheels are I would get an 11 inch, I have ran them in my 67 Camaro SS350 and 74 Z28 foe 50 for almost 50 years. The last 10 inch clutch was in a 75 Camaro and I replaced it often.Leave a comment:

Thanks for all your help. I have owned this car for over 40 years and still feel like a newb .
I measured the input shaft earlier at .6in but I measured the wrong part its actually a 1"
I also called Summit racing and they set me up with this kit
He says it will definitely fit . Got my fingers crossed .Leave a comment:

Throwout bearing must match the pressure plste, not bellhousing. A raised diaphragm pp as in link needs a short throwout bearing.Leave a comment:

OP never has posted his flywheel size 10.2 or 11, need that before you start tossing out part #.Leave a comment:

Here's a clutch kit from Summit Racing that should work. It's an 10.5" diaphram. Also, remember to replace the throw out bearing. Take a look at the clutch fork and bell housing standoff for wear also. There are 2 throw out bearings, different heights. Measure yours and compare to those available. I believe the standard bell housing uses the taller one, but not sure.
