I'd like to have at least a little storage, but I have vintage air taking up almost all the under dash space. Has anyone figured out a way to make it work? I'm looking for ideas on modifying the box or any other solutions that may have worked. I'd love to hear what has worked for you, pictures would be a bonus and appreciated.

I've got Vintage Air, and I have the glove box that came with the unit. I've got my Dakota Digital fan controller in there and insurance and registration. There's still some room left.👍 2 -
Same here, in my 56. Other than the reduced amount of space, no problems whatsoever.Cheers!

Good to know, thanks. I just ordered Vintage Air glovebox part number #490655 It's not listed on their website, so I had to call and the guy tracked it down for me. I did not know that part existed, thanks guys. I though I was going to have to cut down the original and try to make it work. It looks like for 55 & 56 it is a two piece and it's one piece for 57 which should be fun trying to install.👍 1Comment

I also installed the Vintage Air glovebox in my 57. The box that came with my VA order is 2-piece. When I tried to install the pieces, I found them too big for the space, beyond a press fit. I did some internet searching, and found people who said they had modified the stock cardboard box to fit, but to me, that seemed like a huge hurdle. I finally bit the bullet, and did some surgery on the VA glovebox, cutting out sections from both parts to make them less wide, and glued the pieces back together.

I also did some trimming to make the top piece less tall, and made an alcove for the hazard lights switch.
The box looks like this (you can see the two pieces, upper and lower):

The usable box space is minimal. Image below shows how the vehicle registration envelope bent over barely fits in the 'big' half of the box; I guess one could put a small flashlight or something in the right half):
