    Floor heat/sound proof question

hello, I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this ATAC spray on liner for the floorboards? I imagine it is like lizard skin, but not sure. I was also wondering if anyone has done that and put on the dyno mat sound deadeners (or something similar)? I have done the dyno mat in the past and it seems to get pretty warm. Was wondering if doubling up would help with that? Thanks.

OK, so, When I was putting my 56 together, while I had the interior out. I sprayed Lizard Skin on the roof and floor. I used both kinds, and don't remember, but they have a recommendation of which to use first. I can look it up for you if you decide to go this route. I later added a dyna mat like product called Cool Mat on the floor that I bought either from Speedway or Summit, I can't remember which.
When it came time for the headliner, I had an experienced upholsterer look at the car. He saw that I'd sprayed the roof. He said that stuff is a waste. It was a 100 degree day. I told him to put his hand on the outside of the roof, then on the inside. Went from very hot to just warm. He became a believer.
I can drive my car 12 months out of the year, even when it's very hot. Was about 110 Saturday, and I took my car out for a cruise. Had the AC on, and the car was comfortable to ride around in. I would definitely do the same process again if I build another car.

I don't know much about lizard skin but it seems to work fine. I think it's made with hollow ceramic spheres that insulate pretty well. I just used some synthetic jute on my roof, over some sound deadener called Raammat that I got years ago. It's like Dynamat without the price tag. On the floor I have Raammat and will probably put Dynamat Dynapad over it. That's what was recommended to me instead of the jute my interior guy wanted to use. Dynamat has too many products that all seem to do the same thing.

Perfect. Thank you for the responses chevynut & busterwivell (especially with the heat reference, I am in Phx area, so we experience the same heat). I will likely do the same that you two did. Thanks again.
