Have a 1957 Belair convertible, original power steering. When car is stopped the steering wheel is very tough to turn. When car moves just a little, steering is fine and very easy. Is this normal for all 1957 belairs when stopped? Thanks.

Doesn't sound normal to me, but I don't know how the original power steering felt. Is your power steering original, or aftermarket?

Stock PS is not true power steering, it is a linkage assist. It is known for being too much assist with no road feel. No that does not sound right.Comment
