I am very close to starting my 283 V-8 re-built engine and would like to know if the 3 capacitors ,1 on Generator 2 On the Voltage regulator and 3 On the coil are needed to run / break in the engine . Are these 3 Capacitors used just for noise suppression on the old original AM radio's ? I have a modern reproduction Wonder Bar installed in the car , but i don't want to damage anything . I also have a Copper ground strap kit , and I've read that one copper ground strap goes from the lower rear screw on the right rear valve cover to the firewall , but where do the rest go ? I may have 3 ground straps in the kit ?

Thanks Bama , I don't want to damage anything if I can help it . You have been a great source of information for me in trying to get this car to a point where it can be moved if needed . The S/S heat riser tube inside the reproduction exhaust manifold comes all the way and is flush to the top of the exhaust manifold and is not letting me install the choke line to carb because that's the same dia. Maybe the S/S tube can be pushed down a 1/4 inch so I can install the choke to carb. line . Other than that we should be able to install the voltage regulator to the inside of the radiator support , polarize it and the generator if necessary , add fluid's and fire it off . I'm going to remove the inspection plate on the transmission hump and see if I can then install that spark plug wire support that's on the bell on the drivers side and should have been installed before installing the motor . Thanks again for your help . DomComment
