    QA 1 Shocks

A close friend gave me a gently used pair of QA1 rear shocks. These are the single adjustable style (they make dual adjustable, no adjustable and single adjustable). These are not coil over style. I'll keep my current rear leaf springs (for lowered cars). My question is, has anyone on the forum used these shocks? IF so, what do you think of them?

I have ViKing coilovers on all 4 corners of my Nomad, the double adjustable kind. I have played with the settings and can feel it stiffer or looser on both the compression and rebound strokes depending on the settings (# of clicks when rotating the dials). But I have no experience with QA1's though. I would think they will help (vs a non adjustable shock).

I recently purchased a '55 chevy 3100, and I desperately need do upgrade the suspension because of how loose and rough everything feels when I drive it. the truck is all original except for the motor (350 ci), front disc brakes and power steering. I am assuming that the shocks have been replaced at some point but I'm not 100% sure since I just purchased the truck, but it does have the original frame with zero rust and is straight, therefore I'd really like to stick with it if that's feasible. My question is what suspension should I go with to improve handling and overall reliability? is there a bolt-on option or am I looking at a lot of welding and fabrication? I keep hearing brand names like QA1 and Ridetech being thrown around, but no one I know has a 50s truck. They all have c10s and squarbody trucks for the most part, therefore what works for them may not work for my setup. Any help to get me started would be greatly appreciated.

Alex, not alot of truck guys on this website. Mostly tri 5 sedans, wagons, convertibles etc. So the feedback may be slim on what you're after here.
Try doing a web search for suspension upgrade on 1955 chevrolet truck
