    55 stepside Motor mounts

Hey guys new to Tri-Fives. My truck had a 6 cylinder in it. Bought it without engine. Wanting to install a 78 model 250 straight 6 in it. But a bit confused on what engine mounts to use, and where to put them. I think the original engine was mounted in the front and a 250 on the side. Thanks for the help.

I Helped put a 250 in an early truck a long time ago but I think I am remembering correctly.
The 78 Chevy trucks had the same 45 degree frame mounts for both v8 and six. The six had a Chevrolet adapter like this which bolted between the frame mount and the six cylinder engine.

You didn't say if your truck was first or second series. If it is second series here are V8 side motor mounts for it.

If my memory is correct these parts should allow the 250 to bolt into your truck.

You might want to do more research before spending any money but maybe this will help in your search.

A Shrine buddy of mine used Speedway mounts on his 58 Apache when he went from 235 to 350.
