Hi Rick,
GREAT - thanks. But I then have the 1 millon USD question:
What about my 15 inch
wheels?
Can you help me with that too? What tire should I THEN use?
Jens
----- Original Message -----
You can figure sizes on your own, I have been told that
the closest size to a
57 Chevy 14" is a 205/70/14.
With that in mind all tires are now measured in
millimeters. In the above
example the tire is supposed to be 205 mm wide, sidewall
is 70% of that width
with a 14" wheel. Now 70% of 205 is 143.5mm. Now multiply
by two for both
sidewalls top and bottom and you have 287mm. Now convert
mm to inches by
dividing by 25.4 and you have 11.29 in. in sidewall
height. Now add your 14
in. wheel and you have 25.29 inches of diameter. Keep the
diameter close and
you speedometer will also be close.
Rule of Thumb
For every size you jump in width, drop you profile down
one and the diameter
will be close.
Example:
205/70/14-----215/65/14-----225/60/14.
This is the only way I know of to get the same rolling
diameter when using
larger wheels.

From:"RICHARD GIMSER" <rigi57@yahoo.se>
Hello Bob,
Here is an answer to Jens question.
Original tire size for a 57 is 7.50-14.
Which has a circumference of 2050 mm and a diameter of 653
mm (Jens is
from Europe).
Your tires 235/75R15 have a circumference of 2169 mm and a
diameter of
690 mm.
Since you have left the original wheel size I assume you
can also
accept low profile tires.
I suggest 225/65R15 with a diameter of 653 mm or
235/60R15 with a diameter 644 mm.
Good luck with your car.
Here is my question:
I'm going to Los Angeles October 8-24.
Is there any event I shouldn't miss except for Long Beach
and Pomona?
Regards
Richard

Hi, the first thing you re going to need is either a
cd-writer or a dvd-writer.
Depending on what you are trying to copy (i.e., music cd,
game cd, movie dvds)
you will need to have a few programs to burn (means copy)
these media. The first
program you need is Ahead Nero version 6. This is excellent
for burning all
types of media (cd, dvd) Copying a Music cd with this
program is pretty
straight-forward. If you don't have Ahead Nero 6 you can
either Download it from
Aheads website or buy it most any computer software store.
Copying games or
movies get a bit trickier, mainly because of copyright
protection. I need to
stress that it is illegal to make a copy of music, games or
a movie unless you
own the original. That being said, not many people care too
much about that.
There are several websites that can help you copy games and
movies. The first is
www.afterdawn.com. This website has everything you need to
make copies of movie
DVDs. Including easy to follow tutorials for people new to
this. For copying pc,
ps2 or Xbox games go to www.Gamecopyworld.com, which also
has excellent
tutorials for the beginner. If you have any questions you
can email me at
scoobdeu@yahoo.com. Hope this helps. -Nick D.

Lyle, I use a Mac and can copy DVDs and CDs using a product
called Roxio Toast
Titanium. Roxio makes a similar product for Windows which,
I believe, is now
called Roxio Easy Media Creator. I haven't used the
Windows product but people
who have assure me that it is as easy to use as the Mac
product, so I don't

The hubs in question are off 1961 thru 1968 full size

Your 55-57 drums fit

I hope Don Kent is still on your list. Beside being a nice
guy, there is no one more
knowledgeable when it come to information on TVs. Perhaps
someone else will also know the
answer.
I have heard that in a couple of years, all current analog
TVs will need a converter box to work
when TV stations switch to High Definition. Is that true?
I am buying a new one and I would
hate to buy one that will not work after 2 years.
