    Introduction

Good morning: I have a 1956 Chevy Townsman. I'm new to the club; however, I had to somehow register again. I have had several Chevys in the past years and just started again with a new project.

I have 2 questions. I don't know where to post them properly:

Hi need some advice on 2 projects on 56 townsman. If you can help thanks in advance. Installing 3 pt seat belts in front . Palate needs to be welded to upper door post. Car is painted can it be welded without damage to outside paint. If so how.

Installing a new brake booster and master cylinder. Removed old original portion valve. It had 1/4 line going to a double master on firewall no booster . It was 10 in in length. can this be reduced to 3/8 ? To new ?disk in ft and drum in back. The old was located this short distance of 1/2? and reduced to 3/8 before it splits in rear.

So, it looks like your 56 is painted already? When I was building my 56, I sprayed the inside of the roof and floor with Lizard Skin. Then I put a dyno mat kind of stuff called Cool Mat I got from Speedway (I think) on the floor. After adding a full interior, the car rides down the road quietly enough to listen to the radio or have a conversation at normal tones. Of course, you need your interior out to do this. Lizard skin doesn't have much overspray, basic masking would work. I used a s mall roller to get the cool mat to lay flat against the contours of the floor.
